What is mountain boarding?
Mountain boarding is sometimes called rough terrain skate boarding, which is kind of right, because that is exactly that. Mountain boarding is a board sport which is similiar to skate boarding but is much easier to learn and getting the hang of it, also i would say that it has a much friendlier community. It sometimes also gets called snow boarding on wheels, which is also correct, you surf the board exactly the same only that it has wheels, its just that snow boarding requires snowy hills and mountain boarding can be done on any terrain or weather. There is a reason why mountain boarding gets called "all terrain boarding".

In simplest form the answer would be YES! It is as safe as any other physical activity. As long as your kids follow the basic safety guidelines and rules, there should be no reason for your kids to get anything more than couple of cuts or bruises which kids inherit naturally anyway. The key is to always wear a helmet with pads, ride within certain limit and always watch-out for people.
What is the age limit?
Most of the centers that are based in UK have an averege of minimum of 8 years, and you can newer be too told for this sport. Some centers let kids as young as six have a go, the only factor that counts in mountain boarding is the weight of the child for maneuvering the board.
How much does mountain boarding cost?
The biggest price you have to worry about is buying the board itself, on avarage a good beginner board will cost no more than £100 or £200. You should also buy all the safety equipment that includes a helmet, wrist guards, elbow and knee pads, some shops do all_inclusive deals where you get everything you need at once in order to ride. Once you got all the equipment ready and steady, all you need to do is find a place where you could ride. You might get lucky and find yourself living near a public park with a hill or mountain boarding center that has the customized tracks, ramps and bumps. After buying all the kit mountain boarding is a fairly cheap habit, no more than going for a cinema or going for swimming pool.
